She should be fine, by coincidence, my girl did the same yesterday.. she may have a little wind, possibly looser poo.. but should do no harm to her or pups
thank you so much was so worryed about her she is sleeping now i put in on the floor i was going to put down my drain outside because dont want it to block the sink and the door when and i came back from the frount door and she had it all eat she has not been eating to but seem to eat that god sake things you dont want her to eat and she is due on tuesday my heart sank thank god she will be ok thank you so much

If you think about it, if she ate the mince raw then she'd be eating the fat as well. When I used to drain mince I'd give the fat to the dogs as a treat. :-)
but would it block her from breathing so worred

Why would it block her breathing?
??????? i carnt see why it would ,it wouldnt set like it does in your drain.
just thougth because of the fat lol

why on earth would it be a danger? we make fat "biscuits" when we butcher deer and feed it to the hounds....they love it. perfectly ok, nothing to worry about!
awk thank you i just thougth it would because people say you sould not feed your dog fat so i thougth she was in danger its just me i am a worryer sorry

A certain amount of fat is essential in the diet - even for people! We'd actually die without it. If you gave her a pack of butter to eat she'd probably get the squits fora day or two, but nothing more serious than that.
dont be sorry :) if you didnt know and was worried then better to ask than worry ;)
thank you i am not a breeder my boy friend is he is at work so i was just looking it up because i love her and dont want any thing to happen to her was just worryed for her and pups thank you everyone for your help my heart sank sorry for time wasting

You're not time-wasting, so don't worry about that.
Just a quick point - when you have a bitch that has puppies you are a breeder, just as when you have a baby you are a parent.

Lisa, it would amaze you what dogs can and will eat..
You will find many people will drain off any fat from cooking, such as mince, stews, and roast etc.. and mix in with dogs meals ... I do.. my girl just got to it before anyone else did. ;-)
You are not wasting anyone's time.. when you are worried, its better to ask, and put your mind at rest... no matter how silly you think the question may be
Try not to worry, she may be a little loose in her poos (if it was a large amount of fat) or may bring some back.
If only these dogs knew how their antics panic us!!!!

I give my dogs the fat from our meat and from the tin tuna, owned a GSD once that opened the fridge and ate 2.5 lb of assorted fats and a raw chicken, had no effect at all except on the domestic budget.

Anton used to always find a way of getting to the margarine and had quite a lot over the years, never did him any harm and he never had the runs or anything. Must admit I quite often pour some of the fat from meat onto their dried food.

LOL yes, I don't think I've ever lived with a dog that didn't snaffle the butter or marg at least once during their lives.... almost a rite of passage. There's a charity shop near here where I have been taking my dog in since he was a puppy - they love seeing him, have watched him grow up, and always spoil him with treats. I usually let him off lead at the door (if there are no customers in) and he runs to hug the staff. One day though he didn't greet the manager behind the counter but disappeared straight into the back of the shop. By the time I got there, he had nicked a whole pack of butter out of the kicthen at the back and swallowed the lot (manager has been making himself a bit of toast just before I got there). Embarrassed isn't the word! I went straight round to the local supermarket and replaced it. Doggie had no after-effects at all, except that now he automatically starts thinking about butter when we go in, and tries to get round the back of the counter, it's become a bit of local legend!
Also have to confess, he managed to lift a tub of Flora last week and had licked up most of it by the time I caught him (it had gone ominously quiet! always a give-away). But as I was a bit broke, I had no option but to scrape off a thin layer of what was left and yes - I used it all up without thinking twice!
One of my dogs ate a whole block of Lurpak. Paper as well. She was just loose the next day, nothing more.
