My 9 month old pup ate a banana skin this morning, he is bright and ok but does anyone know if its harmful for him.

Sorry, not sure as to effects of banana skin on dogs (I'd imagine it may make them a little 'loose' if anything), but I do remember eating banana skins myself as a child Never had any ill effect on me :)

could be worse,i caught my newfie eating the inside of a disposable clean nappy.I went upstairs to get my coat,and the little heller opened the cupboard door and swiped one.Well let me tell you,i felt ill with worry,i was only  gone for a minute,so rang newfie people and vets etc,he was fine,looked a bit sheepish as he knew he had done wrong,but i was scared about the stuff they put in a nappy to absorb it
any way, i learnt a lesson and the door now has a lock like all the others

Bannana skins won't do any damage to your pup, perhaps as already said it may make him a little loose. :-)

Thanks, he has a cast iron stomach so far in his short life, i will keep a eye on his poo

Had a dog that thought a banana skin was the best possible treat to be offered - he has gambled off to the rainbow bridge now but not he had 14 + years of begging for a banana skin and I never saw any ill effects.

My girl loves Orange skins!! We have to keep well away from her if we want to peel an orange!  My other dogs will back away just at the smell of an orange peel, but not her!!! :) :)

She should come here and join up with my Zymi he peels his oranges before he eats them :-)

Just t say I have seen warnings and dire consequences mentioned on a US breed group of dogs being poisoned by the gelling agent in some babies nappies.

M and B love bananas. Believe it or not, Billy dragged a bunch of bananas to the sofa and managed to peel one of them with his teeth - honest!
