We (Redditch & District Canine Society)  are holding our annual open show at the Sports Connexion (Ryton On Dunsmore) on saturday 15th May, and we are looking for some stewards. If any of you would like to steward or know someone who would like to, please contact me. I believe there is either a lunch on offer, or money towards a lunch for volunteers on the day.

Jenny I hope you get the stewards you require for your show.  I have always enjoyed stewarding and used to travel up 100 miles to steward at shows. Now though due to the increased cost of fuel I don't travel any further than 30 or 40 miles. 

For anyone thinking of stewarding and if you have (like I did) a first steward in the ring who is patient and actually teaches you what the job is it is a great experience and you will want to do it again.

Also if you have large classes it's a great way to watch and learn about other breeds. 

I agree - it's too far for me to travel, but if anyone is interested I urge them to give it a try - stewarding is very interesting!
