I took my bitch to the stud dog yesterday - day 10 he was very keen and entered her quite a few times but no tie. I have had experience with another breed and never had this problem before. Anyone had experience of this?

She may well not be quite ready - when do you intend to go back?

One of my girls was mated days 9 & 11 with two good ties last time, this time, day 13 and we've had one tie but think in 48 hours it might be different, so not every season is the same

My experience of a stud dog mounting and entering but it just 'Not happening' is that she isnt ready.

you will probably find that you will get a tie in another day or so

just to let you know we took her again tonight and within 5 minutes they had tied. It was a good 15 minutes too. So we'll be taking her back on Friday for 2nd mating and hopefully hearing the patter of tiny paws at the end of June.
