Hi my names Patrick,

I live in Co.Kerry Ireland and i am interested in getting an english Bulldog puppy off a recognised breeder, I am looking for a good healthy puppy, i have chatted to quite a few people and they pointed me towards this site.

I have seen a few pups i am intested in, the thing is i am in ireland so i am wondering how would i bring the puppy from UK to ireland. how do i go about it? i am 26 yrs old and want a puppy to join a family household.

If you find a suitable breeder in the UK, you would bring the pup back by car and ferry.  The crossings between UK and Ireland are fairly short so long as you use one of the 'fast' ferries and pup will be safe in the car for the duration of the crossing.  You should be prepared to travel to meet the breeder at least once before as good breeders will insist on meeting the whole family before agreeing to sell you a puppy.

Have you looked closer to home?  The Bulldog Club of Irelandwebsite has a number of breeders listed on their site and Breed Clubs are always a very good place to start your search for a pup.

You can also go along to a show and speak to exhibitors at the Bulldog ring...most show people are only too happy to talk about their breed and you'll get to see dozens of Bulldogs.  There are a few big shows coming up in Ireland:
1st May in Clonmel
2nd May at Thurles, Tipperary
15th May at Cloughran (near Dublin Airport)

Thanks for the info, great help, yes i might check that dog show out if i can, yes i would also visit the pups and breeder once before i get a pup, just been looking for the last month at various ads and litters that have popped up here, i mailed that bulldog club of ireland so hopefully they will get back to me in the next few days.
