I bought a big box and think that they're foul!  Does anyone have any recipes to use this stuff up and make it edible?  I don't like to throw food away........

Mix it with the dogs food ;-)

I agree, it's like eating sawdust and glue. Give 'em to H&S for the dogs ...

It's horrible - I was really disappointed because I like both weetabix and porridge and thought oatibix would be nice too. But it's like wallpaper paste.

If it doesn't make a good addition to a crumble topping give it to the dogs or the birds.

I trialled this before it came out and was apparantly in the minority of people who thought it was disgusting!  I'm glad to find out now that I'm normal!!!  :)

I  like it. I mash up a banana with it. yum

Earl, you are perfectly normal :) I think its some of the most disgusting stuff ever produced. One bowlful and it went never to darken my kitchen cupboards again.

looks like I am the only person in the world who likes it then!!!

I think that you are helensdogz!  I just tried a little with banana - still awful to me.....

I was hoping for a flapjack recipe or similar as I'm sure that the oats are good.  They just taste dreadful whatever they do to them. :(

I think it might be coming to that! :(

My 9 year old daughter chose it as I let her choose her cereal when we go to the supermarket, 1 bowlful and she was begging me not to make her eat any more!! My BIL had a bowl and loved it though so I'm hoping he will b visiting again soon!!!

I chose it because oats are supposed to be good to lower cholesterol and I'm not keen on porridge.  I thought a bowl of Oatibix with soya milk should be very useful but there's no way I can eat the stuff! :(

Saw this on a website....sorta flapjack-ish....

Not sure how good it will be...

Ingredients
4oz soya or sunflower margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1tbsp golden syrup
2 crushed Weetabix or Oatibix
2 handfuls dessicated coconut
1 cup plain flour
1teasp baking powder
1 tbsp cocoa

Icing: 2oz icing sugar + 1tbsp cocoa + hot water
Handy Hint
They're supposed to represent the cubes of rubbish that Wall-e makes! (My kids fell for it anyway)
Method
Preheat oven to 180 / 350 / gas 4.
Melt marge, sugar and syrup in a bowl in the microwave.
Stir in dry ingredients until thoroughly combined and press into a 8"x6" or 7" square baking tin.
Bake 20mins.

Mix icing ingredients and spread on to biscuit while hot. Leave 5mins then slice into squares and leave to cool.

Pah!  You guys ought to try Australian Weet-Bix!!!  Yuk!!!!!!  So NOT the same as good old Weetabix.
I buy my English version from Coles :D

Glad to see I am not the only one who thinks Oatibix are foul. I tried them because I get the most horrible indigestion when I eat weetabix and thought they might be kinder to my digestion.

So I am now back to buying Muesli base from the Co-Op and adding fruits and nuts to it that I like, as I am not keen on raisins, so usually I add things like goji berries, or dates and some walnuts or hazelnuts. when my daughter is here she likes to add banana chips too.
