well were only in april but my daughter is already palnning her outfit for Richmond as it looks like she will be showing a different breed this year. Shes usuallys wears a black suit for showing a fawn bullmastiff but it looks like she will be showing a blue great dane this year and were a little unsure of what colour suit would complemet the dog and ive just been told no skirts it would be a trouser suit.
Since my daughter started showing, I've had to buy sooo many different suits especially when going from showing her gold (easy black suit) to showing a black (can't wear black anymore) to occasional borrowed breeds when all goes out of the window!! We haven't quite got as far as changing our mind for Richmond yet. Looks like it'll be the pink dress suit
What about a cherry red?

That's what I was thinking, or even the right shade of green (sort of an olive/darker green maybe) would go with both breeds. Although good luck finding a green suit! I ended up paying a ridiculous amount for a Caldene show jacket because it was the right green colour. Red would probably look better in my opinion. I think somebody should start making suits especially for showing dogs in, so you have a huge range of colours to pick from, and all the jackets have pockets for treats/combs/poo bags etc :-D

Spoken like a true dog person! :-) :-) :-)
here here
Daughters last suit was from Next. The girl on the counter nearly fell over when she asked if it was a special occasion and we said yes, a dog show!

I bought a new Monsoon suit for showing my dog at crufts. My daughter placed it for ' safe keeping'in an empty cage next to kezzie. What we didn't realise was that she managed to drag the jacket into her crate and merrily chewed holes all over it!!!!!Wasn't happy'I can tell you.At least she acheived BPIB so was forgiven!!!!

My dogs are shaded reds, I find greens and pink/purples work well

lol, do't take this the wrong way please but I feel better now--my puppy is a total demon for this bless his smiley little self :)

I would say some kind of red also.
I'd say red too but failing that what about grey? My girl is Tricolour (Black, Tan and White) and I find my grey suit works well to complement her.
I think the red one is a very good option. I also have a lot of problems finding a suit with pockets, good colour.... and the shop assistant is always surprised about the reason I want the suit.. hahaha
In the Spanish Final next month I think I'll maybe wear a black suit with a pink tie because I'll show a pointer.

Just about any shade of red would look great with a Blue dog, it really complements the colour and makes the blue look 'bluer'
If he's a darkish blue then I'd go for light to mid red, if he's a lighter shade, then mid to dark red will look really good :-D

I think red would look fine with the dog, but it also seems to be the default option with so many dogs that it must be very popular in the junior handling rings. On that basis, I'd go purple or lilac tones.
