i've never come across this before. we are awaiting my bitch coming into season and this morning she has a brown discharge. is this the start. my other bitch has always started a season with a red spotting. she is very healthy, no other health issues, and has never had a litter before. could the brown discharge be the start of this season? would appreciate your help as I don't want to breed her at this time, and cannot get her to the vets until friday.

Yes, my bitch usually starts with brown spotting.

I count day 1 as the day of first RED discharge, but it does sound like it's on it's way.
