Hi, can anyone help, i have a 5 year old bitch and 2 18month old bitch's, they are gorgeous dogs very loving and playful but when ever we go for a walk, no matter where we go, the min they see a person or another dog they all start barking uncontrollably, but then if the person or dog comes close to them my dogs just hide under my legs. i love walking the and love letting them free to run around the fields but it is getting very embarrassing.
Can anyone help me to stop my dogs barking?

I am sooo glad I am not the only one.  Especially when you get that look....

I have found distraction works well using either food or toy so we are getting there, for me its the younger one that starts it and the two older ones join in.  on their own the two older ones dont bother.

distraction is the key as your dogs are barking because they are feeling unsure of people or other dogs and go into defensive mode.
Being on the lead can make things worst and because their nervous they are warning everyone to leave them alone.
i would try getting them to sit if you see anyone in the distance and keep rewarding them with treats so they relate seeing other dogs or people with nice things but you will have to be patient and keep working on it for it to work.
It maybe worth going back to some training classes, not because they need a lot of training but to help them get used to being around other people and dogs in a safe enviroment. if they feel relaxed they should stop at least some of the barking.

thank you both so much, its nice to hear im not the only one, people look at me as if my dogs are killers but their as soft as brush's really, just really noisey.

I will take them 2moz with lots of treats and see how i get on.

just to add it maybe worth walking them one at a time while you focus on sorting this out. things can often be sorted a lot easier if you concentrate on one dog at a time, as they do tend to set each other off.
