hi this has probably been asked a thousand times before, but is it normal for a bitches bleeding to become darker after mating? my girl has been mated over the last three days, tonight her bleeding is darker than it was. she has been  bleeding throughout her season wich is normal for her, it was a pale red/pinky colour, now it is dark red. she is a maiden, bitch first time breeding, she is three years old and a small breed. stud dog is same breed and proven. ties were fine both dogs very calm.

Not a problem.  I would only ever worry if it smelled awful.  Sounds perfectly normal to me.
