Hiya
After reading some of your posts i thought i would post as maybe someone else had experience this problem previously???

My 2yr 9month old Shih Tzu Jerrie currently cant walk on his back legs as they dont work.

The problem first happened about 9 months ago when he walked like a side ways crab.  He got over this after a weekend in vet hospital and antinflamitories.  They first thought it was because he randomly had a high postassium level that was that.

But this time i got home and he was walking arched back legs under - firstly i thought stomach cramps as this what i found on the internet was the usual signs of this - but after staying up all night with him and taking him to the vets as he know wasnt walking where they immediately tested his blood for postassium thinking this was the problem last time.  But no all his bloods levels in where fine.  He had another weekend in vets and back home now on inflamatories.  Vet has him on cage rest and suggested this might be a lengthy process and i might have to train him to walk again.  Yes they think he has slipped a disc or muscle damage.  He is improving slowly as he can now wag his tail and stand for 5 secs.  He is very very bright and wants to play with the others and would if he could.

So my question is anyone been through this process?? Anyone trained there dog to walk again?? Know of any good tips to help him and of any good literature sites that can HELP me to help him walk??

Any advice welcome... Thanks
