hi my bitch was given drontal plus on day 35 what harm could this do to her or her puppies

I didn't even know that it was licensed for use on pregnant bitches

Even with a licensed wormer, I would never start that early.  But I am sure that someone will come on that is able to tell you of any risks.

Sorry not to be of much help, but have never known anyone use it for pregnant bitches.

As far as i am aware Drontal is not licensed for use on bitches in whelp! Did the vet advise you to use this wormer?

I certainly wouldn't have given it to a pregnant bitch. A phone call to your vet would be in order I feel.  Or have a good read of the instructions!

If I intend to mate a bitch, I worm her as soon as she comes into season to avoid such issues.

Consult a veterinary surgeon before treating pregnant animals for roundworms.
The product may be used during lactation.
Do not exceed recommended dose when treating pregnant bitches.

from the 'product pack leaflet', bottom line reads that it is ok.

I used this on my bitch with no ill-effects and know of others who have used it successfully  too..........

I know it isn't liscensed for use but as posted, it does say "don't exceed dose during pregnancy"

No point worming a bitch just prior to mating really

But did you use it that early in gestation?  I thought it was far too early personally.

Yes..............I used it on day 38 which was day 35/36 according to the scan we had

To be honest, I didn't want to change over to a wormer that we'd never used before and one that had to be given daily for so many days, I will be worming my pups on Drontal once they are 3 weeks old and also worming the bitch at the same time using Drontal

I used this on my bitch, then found out she was in whelp,after the mis-mate injection. My vet was very good, made a few calls and found it doesn't do any harm. Went on to have 13 pups,
