Hi Guys,

I have a sheltie, he was 6 in Jan

Just before christmas his mouth was open, like he couldnt close it so it was hard to eat and drink. Took him to the vet near my work who said he had a temp and gave him antibiotics

Boxing day he was so bad he couldnt drink, so took him to my usual vets, same temp - they gave a steroid injection and by lunchtime he was eating and drinking as normal...

2 weeks later same thing happened but no temperature and basically the muscles around his head have died, so he was put on steroids to prevent it getting worse, and the muscles have caused problems with his eyes and he has now lost the sight in one of them

To add to his problems further he now has kennel cough

Basically just wondering if anyone has heard of this muscle prob, as the practice has about 8 vets and only one seems to have seen it before and also how long kennel cough lasts and how long it is contagious for

I must add that despite his problems his tail is still always wagging, he loves his cuddles an his food and he loves to play when he can see the toys! so he is still very happy in himself
