hi,
sorry my first post is asking for help.
we have breed before and it was textbook
we did the temperature chart and it was spot on.
this time it's not,it's not gone wrong but I am starting to worry a little or put me off.
so my little girl is a toy breed, she is a little agility star in the making, dad is in agility to and the same breed.
on day 57 (from first date)
she had not had a great nights sleeps, need not want to eat. she wanted the other dogs out of her way,she was sick 3 times.tem was up and down. so did not thinking to much of it all.
(puppies still moving well called vet who saw her and said she was fine got the same tem and said take her home you have some way to go)
day 58
still not eating, sick 3 times
could see her tummy going with little contractions, tummy got low and felt like hard, could see little hard lumps (don't know what people call this sorry)
went to see the vet who said keep a eye on her.
tem went from 99.2 to 98.4 to 98.8
(puppies still moving well and she wants to be with us)
day 59
lots of sleeping
tem went 98.2 to 98.7 to 97.9 *from 2 pm*it then stayed at 97.9!
tummy was still going hard lots, some mucus discharge
tummy looks lower, but eating like a horse and then sleeping on her side, tummy keeps going hard where you can see all the puppies look like hard lumps, eye's look very open.
puppies still moving and she wants to be with me all the time.
day 60 (to day)
lots of sleeping this morning tem 98.2
would cry if I go out of her room,
eating like I have never seen her, bad smells from her bum!
as the day has gone on she has got very opened eyed
tem went up to 99.2
lots of hard tummy with lots lumps.
then tonight she started digger at her bed, running about wanting to go out, up down and all about.
bad smells from her bum! tummy was hard but not in the same way (no lumps) it all stop at 11 pm.
each night it all stops! at about 11!
she is now sleeping yet again, called vet tonight who said she would see her in the morning if there are no puppies tonight,
her tem now is 99.1 and once again she is sleeping on her side,
I am not stressed about it to much, but I am puzzled/ or sure what to think, we still have days to go but I have never had a tem go that low and not had puppies with in 24 hours
I trust my vet she is great and we will see her in the morning,
I am sleeping with her, she is happy in her whelping box, going out for a wee ok.
any ideas or what would help or any thing would be great.
(sorry about spelling it's 1 am and my head is sleepy)
thank you
Dee

Typical toy breed inertia?
I know you say that you still have days to go but lots of toy breeds don't ever go to day 63.
Day 56 is more the norm with mine. Sounds as if contractions are too weak?
I remember taking one of my girls to the vet because I "knew" something wasn't right. 7pm the vet said nowhere near whelping, not dilated, no milk etc. etc.
Waters broke before 11pm and it was an emergency section. Is your previous whelping experience with the same breed as this time?
thank you,
we have just been to the vets, after a long night.
she did a internal exam and said she is not fully dilated.
she gave her a jab of calcium and said see how she goes, she is on call all weekend.
she said Monday if there are no puppies she is going to do a C section.
starting to feel the stress now.
