Hi please dont shout i am looking for advise.

i have a bitch 11 month old first season been very carfull to keep my male away from all was going well untill feeding time when my child opened the door and my male pushed passed and jumped strait on my bitch and tied so quickly i could not get him off in time.

they are both registered but not hip scored yet as i had no plans to breed untill she was at least 2yr old.

i have shown my male and do know people in the breed i am ashamed of the accident but it has happened now and cant believe how quickly it did.

now what would you do.

1: do i give her the injection? will it afect any later litters and breeding plans.

2: do i let her have the pups and register litter? she will be 1 yr before birth.

i am worried and not sure whats the best thing for her.

i am also worried if she has the injection you can have 1 large pup remain with this breed this would be a c -section.

If it were me I would have the injection, you will be breeding (albeit unplanned) from a untested baby.
The injection may start her season again but I think it is better to end things now before bringing into the world an unplanned, untested litter. She is young and time is on her side, so if you want to breed from her do your health tests, research, choose your stud dog and line up prospective owners.

I am not shouting, it has happened to me, through a stair gate, you just have to be so careful, where there is a willing bitch, there is a way.

although hip scoring is not done by top show breeders in my breed i did and still do intend to have mine done my biggest concern is her age.

both my dogs are compatible on papper and i am always following the dogs in the ring for future planes dogs i do like are not scored either it doesent seem to be the priority (not my opinion)

i have also bred before and my boy is my own breeding my girl was bought with compatibliity in mined. and was just watching her development and had not yet decided if i was to breed here yet or not litter mate to my boy is hip scored and has very good results parents are scored so not to conderned about problems with hip. their enviroment has been controlled so can see problem there.

i appreciate you view and would like to know which miss-mate injection is the safest.

i have had an unlanned litter and belive me it happens to the best of us.i know some will not agree but ill say it anyway it really depends on how you feel doesnt it.

if she were 6 months and this was her first season would you be contemplating the litter going ahead?

are you thinking that because the kc will register them that it is ok?

TBH there are lots of things to consider,she may not have caught,she may not be mature enough yet would you want a puppy raising puppies?
I am in no way having a go at you belive me far from it because what will be will be its your choice and ive had something similar happen to me what you need right now is advise and not nagging...

others will be along to give you genuinely GOOD sound advise but id say think long and hard about whats right for the bitch.
whatever you decide have her health tests done and i hope it all works ut for you in the end.x

hmm,this does not mean that your boy will have good hips as well.a freind of mine had a litter with one puppy that ended up with hd but the other litter sibblings all hadscores to die for.these dogs are from very good lines so to test your dogs is always best.

hi the kc wont register the puppies as they have to be 12 months on the date of mating and not the date of birth.

thanks for that i had not checked it out as i had no plans to mate her before 2yrs.

could anyone tell me the name of the safe miss-mate injection so i know which one to ask for when at the vets.

Fosters are you sure of that?  I thought it was the DOB and even then certain rules only for AB's and registered breeders.

Definitely 12 months at date of mating now.

hi yes deffinatley sure i dont know about abs as i know they have changed some breeds to 2 years etc but for most breeds they have to be 12 months at the date of mating and not the date of birth

i have taken this below from the kennel club website i know some are not applicable but in relation to the registration of puppies from a mating of a bitch under a year old at date of mating:

Q. Are there any restrictions that would prevent me from registering my pedigree puppies?A. Yes, if any of the following apply:

Breeding and Sale of Dogs Act (seek advice from your local authority)
The dam has already whelped six litters, or
The dam has already reached the age of eight years at the date of whelping, or
The dam was under 12 months of age at the date of mating

The Kennel club won't allow the registration of a litter where a bitch was under 1 year old at time of MATING.

So really your only real option is to have the Alizin injection.

Unfortunately mating can be as quick as that, especially when you don't want it.

Better that you knew it had happened unlike with a Friend of mine whose teenage offspring thought that not telling Mum about letting the dogs out together was OK, as it was just the one mating!

She ended up with a totally unexpected litter.

Oh no, i bet your friend was angry,

Well as it was the bitches third litter it meant she has ended her line, she could have by our breed lub rules have had another litter for her to keep a puppy (previous two litters didn't have a suitable bitch to keep), but felt three litters was enough, and the bitch was spayed after rearing her litter.
