Does anyone know at a champ show if a class 'special puppy black' is a crufts qualifier 1,2,3,? (pugs)

thanks

No, no class which is 'special' is a qualifier.

'Puppy' would be, but 'puppy, black' wouldn't.

Minor puppy qualifies IF there are CCs on offer at the show.

thats what i thought. Its a champ show but i cant see anything about cc being on offer on the schedule.

Which show is it?

If CCs are on offer for your breed, it will say above the list of classes for the breed. Above the class numbers it will say "KC Challenge Certificate -Dog" and "KC Challenge Certificate -bitch". (Or in some rare cases there may be only one CC on offer and then it says "Single Best of Breed Challenge Certificate.")

the only "special" classes that are crufts qualifications are the special puppy, special junior and special veteran at crufts, which qualify you for the next years crufts.if it is a breed club champ show then minor puppy or puppy would qualify you as long as the class isnt "special" by way of colour, etc.

Hi Scotgal,  Yes, Minor Pup qualifies at Scottish Pug Ch show, as does Puppy, but Special Puppy Black does not (nor do Special Open Black & Special Open Fawn.   The only other non qualifying classes are Yearling and Novice, and members resident in Scotland only.  However, winning Special Puppy Black does allow you to challenge for best puppy if you are unbeaten by another puppy in anyother class.  So if you decided to go for the Black class only and win  you are still in the best dog/best puppy line up.  You cna always go in for Minor Puppy and Special Black, just be sure not to enter too many classes so early on in his show career.
