Im down 5 stone 4lb but its getting really tough now Im so close. Had a celebration when I got under the obese BMI. It was so funny celebrating being offically overweight!!
I bought myself a pair of expensive Jaegar jeans size 14 and when they fit (and I can breath when they are done up) I will go onto management program.
I went to a well women clinic at our local surgery my blood pressure and colestral levels are great, water works are fine and for me the Lighterlife diet works. It will not for everyone but it seems to fit my mood at the moment.
Im looking forward to my youngest son coming home for Mothers Day and he is 23 that day as well.
All you out there trying, keep going, we will all be skinny minnies for the summer.

I have been trying to lose wieght to fit into a new jacket that I bought, so have lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks, so quite pleased, want to lose atleast 2 stone before August.
I've cut down my portion sizes, and no crisps/biscuits are being bought now, only fruit!
I'm walking the dogs 4 times a day, and walking to the stables at night, instead of taking my van.
Good luck to everybody trying to lose weight!

Well done Whistler :-)
My diet isn't going very well, I just can't stick to it and keep changing weights (range of about 4lb). I NEED to give myself a kick up the bum as I'm very close to my target, it's just once I reach it I gain weight

I have my sisters birthday party in a few weeks, my mother-in-laws wedding in a few months, so these should both keep me on target but I just can't focus. I'm so cross with myself.
The fact you have done so well is motivating though, well done and thanks for sharing your success :)
Thats what i was hoping, it is so hard Ive been dieting since October and I could kill for cheese on toast. Im soooo close. Its my 55th on 30/4 and I will get there. Now Im panicing about staying within the weight I should be.
Its taken me 15 years to really get myself into order, but the dogs help and Im starting walking in and out of work as well.
I hope my OH can keep up with the new woman!!! Seriously with all that goes on in "normal" life its no wonder we turn to food as a panace'a. Ive also rediscovered tapestry work so i keep my hands busy and dont head for the fridge!!
Keep going all of you if I can do it you all can, but if you do go off the boil do not blame yourselves, just keep going.
18 stone 8lbs - now 13 stone 4 lbs !!!

Yay well done you!!!!! over 5 stone since October thats brilliant.
I lost 6.5 stone 2 years ago and now have gone and gotten myself pregnant :) ah well start again afterwards.
Staying within the weight you should be is far easier than getting the weight off in the 1st place, just keep telling yourself that and you will be fine. You have done most of the hard work and wont want to see it all come undone.
Congrats on such an achievement.
Well done you - I just cannot stick to my diet at the moment, I need to lose a stone as I'm being my sisters bridesmaid in July I even looked in M&S today at those body stocking things think I'll be buying one if I don't get my act together soon !!

Whistler ..well done on your weight loss ...brilliant ... do you recommend the lighter life .. do you think its expensive or well worth the money??
Roni
Well done Whistler! How do you plan to keep the weight off when you are back to 'normal' eating. I know someone who did really well on lighterlife but couldnt change her habits of eating the wrong food when she stopped LL and ended up piling on the pounds soon after losing them.
Do they give you any help or advice for when you have reached your target weight?
Yes ive got the management books to start looking at. They introduce meals over a 12 week period and help to get you on the correct balance. I had also visited a dietician who has given me a plan for a months meals. Between the two I hope to get there, but I owould be lying if I said it will be easy.
But, I would have said 6 months without chocolate is impossible but I have done it. Lets see what i want more when the time comes.
I have been throwing (well donating to Sally Army) my clothes as I have grown out of them. So I had better stay slimmer.

Well done Whistler keep it up,
i'v flopped i'm affraid with the food diet but since my sump on the car cracked and cost me £300 to repair im starting to walk more as the car is a luxary at the moment and i want to preserve it, so the less i use it the better, more walking for me that alone will be a great help in lossing some pounds :-)
Yes me too, Ive decided now its light in the mornings I have no excuse but must walk to a from work about 2.5 miles each way. I may call it quits when it rains, but Whistler will be up for it in a day or two after he has recovered a bit more from his op yesterday.

Oops double post

Whistler I was wondering how you were getting on the other day. Well done.
I have, so far lost 1st 8lb, and really want to reach the magic 2 stone for my birthday which is also in April. Like you I can't understand why I have waited so long to do this.
I'm not really dieting, but making healthier choices, eating smaller portions and walking more so the weight is coming off slowly but steadily. I still have along way to go, I need to lose about 6 stone in total, but I am on my way.
Funnily enough 6st is about the same a male of my breed weighs, maybe when I have lost the weight I could sneak another in without my husband noticing. On a more sobering note it means I spend my days carrying around the equivalent of a large dog in excess fat. If that repulsive thought doesn't motivate me nothing will.

Well I've lost a total of 3 1/2 Stone. Now down to a normal BMI just want to lose a few more pounds (Hips and thigh problem areas). Since I left the stress of university and relationships behind the weight has just fallen off!
Well done & good luck for the remaining!

I've just started one as of yesterday. Its a herbalife diet. My aunty is a distributor after if worked for her. She started in November and has lost 4 st. She is now 9 1/2st so I'll let you know in a weeks time when I get weighed :-D

well done Whistler, you are very brave doing that diet, I dont think I could go without chocolate for 6 months

Im still plugging away with weightwatchers, its a way of life now, so far ive lost 2st 7lb, since June last year. Its been a slow process but it is staying off, and since that time the only time I put on a couple of pounds was at Christmas, each week I either lose 1-2lb or stay the same. Its getting frustrating now im only 8lb off goal as some weeks I only lose half a pound, I just want to get there now !!
One thing I will say about weightwatchers is ive never felt ive missed out on anything, we still have treats, wine, takeaways, meals out and manage to balance it so I still lose :)

Well done you! Give yourself a huge pat on the back. You really need to get into the right frame of mind, and you sound as if you're on a roll.
Congratulations!

Well since sept mum has hit the 3.5 stone mark and still going she has lost the most weight in the club in that space of time and has been put forward for a weight loss competition. Mum keeps telling me she will be in a bikini next year :0
What's funny is we were doing to together over the summer then when I went back to Uni, she used to ring and id say yer iv lost loads (with a bowl of pasta in one hand and something disgusting in the other) its safe to say iv lost nothing, but I didn't tell her that, when I go back next week Im gunna see how long she will fake saying ooh havent you lost weight before I let her out of her misery and take her out for coffee.

Thought I'd bump this up to tell everyone since March 3rd 2010 I've lost 34lb and a total of just over 1/2metre of measurements :-D
Wowwee, well done you! So that's just 4 months ... what have you been following? I need to lose a similar amount in all honesty, am just waiting for the switch to flick to make me do it!

I've been doing it with www.drink2shrink.co.uk something that has been incredibly easy. I'm rubbish at diets as I get bored with them, but this has been brilliant, and has worked for me even though I've been completely bed bound (exercise free unfortuantely ;-)) for 3 of the 4 months, and the other month was spent in a wheelchair. So even though the odds were stacked against me my muscle mass has increased and fat content decreased. :-D I am beaming, over half way to my target (Yes... I was a real fat cow ;-))
I think us two must be the only ones online at the moment :-)
Sounds interesting diet ... is it just drinks? I do like a good chomp ... which is probably why I need to lose around 30lb :-(
I shall go and have a look at the website now. But really well done, even better if you haven't been able to exercise during it.

Its based on 2 drinks a day and a meal also 2 snacks a day too which can be protein bars (that come in 3 flavours- one tastes just like snickers bar "yum yum") or if you are a "savoury" person you can eat lots of chicken bits virtually all day long... You are constantly full but can also get your sweet fix if you are a chocoholic ;-)

I know lol... I've seen SleepingLion too, but thats all. Been quiet on here for a few weeks

i have had a look at the website but it doesn't have prices unless you register and I don't want bombarded with e-mails if it is extortionate. I did lighterlife a few years ago and lost 2.5 stone in 6 weeks which was great but I went back to eating chocolate for breakfast lunch and tea so put it all back on and more. I like the idea of being able to eat chicken - I love chicken!!

Will find out for you, its my aunties business so I'll get back to you with the prices.

Ive re-started my diet as I put on all Id lost (my signature is so out of date).
So I went back last week to find out I lost 6 pound in my first week!! Was so chuffed. I get weighed on Wednesday and have been relatively good so we'll see how we go!

I worked it out.... £86.55 will give you about 40 days worth, so it works out about £1.10 per meal. Approx

Thanks Tanya, I will have a look at it.
