I was told that a smaller Labrador existed. Could you please tell me about this?

KC breed standard height for a Labrador bitch is 21.5 to 22 inches and a dog 22 to 22.5 inches. If you are in America then the standard is 21.5 to 23.5 for a bitch or 22.5 to 24.5 for a dog. You might find one slightly bigger or smaller when full grown but much out from this and it's not a Labrador.

You may be thinking of a working strain lab which usually a smaller build than a show bred dogs. A working strain could weigh 20-25 kgs whereas a show bred dog could weigh 30-35 kgs. There is a discussion on this board about the relative merits of each type of dog.
