Hi.  Could someone please tell me (or correct me if I am wrong), but on watching this competition on the Crufts Livestream, I was sure that the GSP was docked.  I thought that dogs docked after April 2007 were not allowed to compete at a show where the public paid admission.  Of course I may have been wrong.  Perhaps someone could enlighten me on this one.  Many thanks.

while on this subject does anyone know whjere and when the jw heats are being held this year to qualify for 2011?

The GSP in question is about three years old and therefore was docked before the ban came in. This was the final for dogs who have won a JW not dogs up to 18 months old.

Does it mean that any dog having a JW can go in the JW heats at any time or jut the year after they have won it?

I have a youngster who won hers last year, and also her Mum who I never entered any heats with.

Thank you for that.....it clears up the matter now.  Like Brainless said does it mean any dog with a junior warrant can compete regardless of age....I have one that is now a veteran!!!  lol

Yes the GSP was docked.  Ethan was born on the 2nd April 2007.  So he was LEGALLY docked BEFORE the docking ban came in on the 6th April 2007.

So, yes, he is almost 3, HOWEVER, Eligibility to compete in the qualifying heats is for all dogs that have qualified for a Junior Warrant within the period 1st August 2008 - 31st July 2009. Etham Gained his JW during August 2008.  It is accepted that some dogs will be over 18 calendar months of age should they qualify for the semi-finals!

i dont know if the dates are out yet. They are held August and september each year

the KC announce them in the gazette, not usually until may time
