Topic Dog Boards / General / indestructible toy for young dog?
- By CarolW [gb] Date 11.03.10 14:43 UTC
Monty is my son's 10mth old labradoodle.  He is a lovely boy but destroys any toy that he has.  Can anyone recommend a toy that he can carry around that he can't break.

Thank you
CarolW

Kongs are the normal suggestions. mine love the jw cuz toys, and they dont break easily, another one is a jolly ball, large round plastic ball, mine play with it like they would a football, only they cant get their teeth in it to hold it!

The extreme Kong (the black range) are really very good.

I'd love to know if you find anything. Even the extreme kong is yet to survive more than 24hours with my boy! x

I know I was amazed! Thought the 1st one might be a fluke but he's destroyed 3! I'm sure my dog is a freak of nature with his incredible ability to destroy anything and everything. Funnily enough the only thing he doesn't trash is rope toys although hes more than capable he quite likes playing with those x

I have a youngster too who just rips kongs apart but rope toys last quite a while!! They do end up quite bedraggled but he tends to amuse himself with them chucking them up in the air while I'm tidying up! Rope toys I pick up for £2 from pets at home kongs would cost me alot more so I'm quite happy they survive him it is one of the rare things in life where I actually save abit of money!!!

He likes to carry things so I had in mind something that he could carry whilst on a walk.  What about the wooden dumbell thingys?  He likes the raggers - the thing with the balls on the end - but manages to rip the balls off

nylonbone.   he won't rip one of those up in a hurry.

If he likes to play with balls, have a look at Boomer Ball. You buy them a size too big so they can't get it into their mouth but they can chase it through the garden. They use the really big ones in zoos for bears, lions and other big cats to keep them occupied. So they really are indestructable.

I've got one for my bitch and she loves it.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I will pass them on
