Hi,
My bitch is due next saturday, shes fine in herself, eating and drinking normally..pups active etc.
For the last couple of days shes been digging a lot in her whelping box and the other dogs crate...constantly cleaning herself and peeing a lot(i know thats to be expected). Does the digging mean she will have the pups early or is it just nature making her do this..had her to the vets this morning and was told all ok.
Im keeping a very close eye on her!

I would be doing the same.  :-)   Certainly looks like she won't go another week.

As pups are perfectly viable at this stage, I wouldn't overly worry.  Sounds like you will soon be looking like a zombie!  :-)

Shes B/T and we mated her to a B/T who is producing Ruby and B/T...I so want a ruby bitch, but another B/T will be very nice aswell:)

Morning...
Digging on and off night last, wanting to be out in the garden...let her out at 3am...she laid on the patio and didnt want to come in again...so in my dressing gown and slippers I had to toddle off and get her back!!! Pups are still moving, she hasnt eaten anything yet but she has been sick..just bile though. Her temp is 36.8..I dont know what that is in normal temps. Any advice..apart from keep an eye on her??

I'd say she's off and running :-)

This breed in general go early and with that temperature and behaviour I'd say its any time now.
No further advice except be prepared to get the puppies going, ie expect some that may need help, they can often produce small, lazy, and early babies.

Shes sound asleep at the mo...pups still moving quite a lot, shes not panting and there isnt a lot of mucous from her vulva, just a slight amount...but she is a very clean girl anyway...I have been sleeping downstairs with her...will keep you updated:)

Ah yes, they tend to do this to ensure you worry, and don't get any sleep yourself!  :-)  You can always tell who we are, we go round looking like zombies!  :-)

Temp is at 37.1 this morning...shes in a really deep sleep and dreaming..must be good as her tail is wagging!!!
She hasnt had anything to eat as yet, hasnt been sick and I cant see any signs of labour, shes a lot quieter today than she was yesterday though.
No sign of any milk or colostrum yet. Pups still moving but again not as much as yesterday...guess its just a case of wait and see. Shes not actually due until saturday anyway...just seems to be taking forever!!

I hope it's soon for you.................

We are day 63 today! :-O   and NO signs of whelping! she is busy snoring on the kitchen floor right now! .....................don't think she is bitch that is going to let pregnancy/whelping put her off her food either :-D

I haven't taken temperatures this time

Day 54 today :0) ......  & the little monster has dug a hole in my garden , but i dont want her to start yet as it's too soon , did my daily boob check ( on my girl ) not me lol & she had a small amout of dry kinda yellow substance on her nips is that ok .

She has not had any discharge of any colour  , yet in the book it says from day 35 .

My girl had her litter on sunday nite at 12 on the dot she never had any milk in at all but does now!  I thought they always had milk in first but this girl was different i suppose

She wasn't due till this saturday but was huge so was expecting her too go early she had 4 last pup born dead though i am wondering if this made her go early?

I have been reading this thread every day i am very excited for everyone too have there pups!

Yeh that's fine but just watch for swollen shiney boobs, some girls can get their milk in rather early and one Rottie bitch I knew had mastitis a week before whelping.Unusual but worth watching for, they have enough to contend with without pain there.

You dont want to see any colour in a discharge, just clear, fresh smelling mucoid material...... any coloured or smelly discharge...straight to the vet.

This all sounds like early stage one.  Mine generally dig with in 72 hours of having pups.  If they do come earlier they will only be a few days so will be fine. Just get them warm and dry ( I use a hair dryer)

mm been up most of the night with my girl digging the carpet at the top of the stair.thing is we dont know if we have puppies or if we are having a very good phantom.we should be due fri but vet isnt convinsed she is actually having any pups,if she is it could be a singleton (thats wot he said) she is quite big,off her food ,teats swowlen and producing milk ,dont realy know if i have felt anything but vet said if she is in pup then she is carrying them in her ribs because thats were she is larger,if you look at her from above her ribs have realy expanded.i am seriously considering a scan at some point in the next day or so.but again vet said we prob wouldnt see.

I would insist on a scan just to be sure and give yourself peace of mind. Your vet should be able to hear any pups heartbeats aswell.

just been to scanner ,no puppies,maisie deserves an oscar she is the best actress ive ever know.the monkey.scanner said she would be able to tell if she had reabsorbed but there was no sign of that either.
