Hi , anyone ever used Keith at fit and fertile to scan and if so how accurate was he and did he use sheep scanner?

We always use keith, he is accurate but we get them scanned at 28 days, just the once, it has been know for them to reabsorb 1 or 2 though,

Thanks, i was going to get her done on day 28 but hubby wants to do it on day 35, as we've read where some people go on day 28 and seen nothing and then had rescan and seen puppies.

I like to scan at 35 but my OH wont wait ha ha! i think Keiths new machine picks up at 3 weeks now? i could be wrong though. whats your thoughts with your girl?
We have him scanning one of ours this Friday, im not sure? she has put weight on but we have changed food so this could be the cause? she is still eating well but she is very greedy, she be 4 weeks tomorrow from 1st mating.

I have a gut feeling she is pregnant, she is 4weeks from last mating on Saturday. All she is doing is sleeping, gone off her food and quite narky. Even bought sliced ham and chicken which she normally loves but she's turned her nose up at it. Do you have Keith come to your house to scan or do you take her there? He is going to come to us as its a bit out of the way.

hi does anybody know how far keith will travel to do do scans?

Hi, i just emailed him and asked him how much to come to me, im in North West and he said £35.00. I think he has a standard fee and then puts travelling costs on top.

I have used Keith lots of times but only for the ovulation scans, as I don't bother with scans to confirm whelping (I would if I was concerned there was a singleton). He does charge £35 and covers the North West. I didn't think he added anything on top of that and that it is a flat rate. But then I am lucky as I only live approx 25 mins from where he lives.

Not sure how far he travels, he comes to the house, we only live 15 minutes from him, our girl had a scuffle with another of our females the other day they have been together since the younger 1 was born, its not like her to be narky, just wondering now if she is in whelp, she is usually so sweet.

My bitch reabsorbed her pups after a scan with her first litter so I won't scan any more. I don't see the point - I can tell very quickly if she's pregnant and the scan is rarely accurate regarding numbers anyway. She has had 2 huge litters since.

I'm not keen on taking my girl to be scanned either. She'd get too stressed out. We're on day 47 from last mating, but there was no tie on either occasion, so I've resigned myself to the fact that there will be no pups. I have to admit though that I keep looking at her & she seems to be expanding, but only around the ribs.....I'll be keeping a close eye on her just incase she balloons in the last 2 weeks :)

Sorry your girl isnt pregnant, I've heard this happen to a few people now, been told no pups and the dog went on to have them so you never know, i would keep an eye on her. On another forum a girl had her dog scanned and was told no pups, she wasnt convinced went back for rescan  1 week before due and found 1 pup, the dog had the 1 pup week later. Thats why my OH wants to wait till she is 35 days as they maybe hiding and they will be that bit bigger, so might be able to see more.
