Hi guys,
well I can't believe where the time has gone its been nearly 6 mths since my bitch was mated and she unfortunately missed in October last year. We are planning to mate her again as soon as she comes into season hopefully April and this time we want to make sure we get it right. My own vet will be taking the blood samples for the progesterone test and I will be sending them off to Idexx and hopefully get the results the next day. We wil be travelling to the UK to mate her so we want to make sure she's ovulated before we step on the boat! I have been probably doing a bit too much reading and I have heard of bitches stoped ovulating due to stress affecting the heat cycle!!! Also what is the level that you know they have ovualted? I want to prepare myself well in advance this time!
Cheers guys

Bitches ovulate between 15 and 20 nm mols then 2 days after the eggs are able to be fertilized by sperm

hi, just want to wish you luck, my girl recently missed and im reading all sorts on breeding trying to be prepared for her next season i know how dissapointing it is when they miss. doesnt really answer your question but wishing you luck x
Hi
Just wanted to say that one of my bitches missed in September. I have another bitch who I have just mated after using Idexx for the first time and she wasnt ready until day 18 so I probably would of missed her!
Im just waiting now until I can get her scanned.
Good luck with your bitch.

I took my girl who missed three times on day 6 for bloods and was phoned next day to say take her straight away, no wonder she'd missed previously as her previous successful litters were on day 18!
cheers guys for the replys...really hope all goes to plan this time!

Good luck
