I made a list up for him to read over.. he looked at me as if I needed my head seeing to!!

although if he is going to be anything like his cousin and aunty.. best call him moron and the name will fit perfectly!

Our 4mnth old dobe puppy is called Daisy! We call her the doberbeast though she is soft as they come!

Her dad was called Snoopy which is a nice name and it goes with the name of his dad Schnupps!

I think its funny when dobes have soft names. Equally we met a lady with a 11 week old jack-a-doodle puppy about as big as a pack of sugar and he was called Butch!!!

I wonder what colour will be maybe that will have a bearing on his name. I've met a lot of black doberbeasts called diesel and jet!

we are hoping for a brown and tan.. but .. colour isnt important.. i want a level headed conformationally correct dog.. so what ever colour he is .. will be!

From our last litter we had these names back from their new owners.

Not exactly big scary woofer names!

Daisy's litter were all brown and tan, i like all the colours though theyre all stunning.

Wilson is also a great name for a puppy, like the football in CastAway with Tom Hanks, then you can shout 'Wiiiiiiillllllsoooooooooon' after him in the park just like tom hanks does when he loses him in the sea!!!

I think we'd like a Wilson and a Willow next but one is enough for now!

I love Wilson..

We are MASSIVE House fans.. I said we should call him "gregory" Or " house" but i dont know how many other people would get it.. Wilson is fantastic! Thats just made it on to the short list!

Askara you might be able to help me with a teething question!

Did any of your Dobes have wild ears while they were teething? Daisy's ears went totally mental at around 13/14 weeks just as her front teeth got wobbly! Now all her front teeth are through they have settled down a bit and her left ear is floppy again though her right ear sometimes sticks straight in the air or sits at a jaunty angle on her head! Do you know if this is pretty common amongst dobes? I wrote a thread a while back and got lots of responses from boxer owners who have the same problem!

My Nan got a pup last year and we were thinking of names in the car on the way home I said Patrick and just as she said I don't like Patrick your granda won't like to shout that, the dirty dancing theme hungry eyes came on the radio ( Patrick Swayze had just passed away ) and she shouted Swayze that's what I'm calling him. She thought it was a sign so he is Swayze and it really suits him . Poor Granda doesn't really like to shout that either I think it's because he can't pronounce it properly , poor dog gets Swizzle most of the time.

I actually have a Dave, also answers to "David" (said in a very Hyacinth Bouquet voice), Monkey, Beastie, b*****d. It is a cracking name, but he is a proper handful.

I've also owned bullmastiffs named Zebedee and Spud.

Did you decide on a name before your litter arrived Askara? What did you have? I know you said you were hoping for a mixed litter of browns and blacks I hope you got both and that they're all strong and well!

Sorry, just to go off the point a little, I heard of a bitch being called Barbara, which had me laughing for ages.  I love hearing about dogs being called people names!

Barbara has set me off giggling again hehehehehehe
