first I would like to say hello to every one. My name is Lisa and I have a labradore aged 9and he has just started with Arthritus but has gone down hill very fast and limps every day now, some days you can see he has to make a lot of effort just to get up. I have been told about the boi-coller and would like to know where I can get hold of one for Sandy. We live in north yorkshire (Richmond)I would be grateful for any advise. Lisa and Sandy

Hi Lisa, I used a bio-flow collar on my Dobe when she had arthritis in her knee due to an injury, it seemed to work. I think they are worth a go, they come with a 3 month (I think) guarantee so if it doesnt work they will refund your money. You can buy them online just do a search using bio-flow collar. I found that a product called Arthri Aid brilliant its the same sort of thing as Cortaflex.

Best Wishes

Hi there,

I found the collar worked well on my old Lab, she was running upstairs again within 3/4 days. However it did nothing for my 4 yr old Lab X who has cartilage damage and osteoarthritis, cortavet spray (apparently the same as Cortaflex) doesn't seem to have done anything either. The best thing for Dylan has been swimming, we have a great pool 20 mins away that doesn't use hoists so he can go in and out as he wishes. He has been much easier on the leg since he started about 5 weeks ago. Well worth a try, some vets will even let you claim on your insurance if you have alternative therapies cover on your policy.

All the best, Hayley

We have an arthritic collie. We use Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets from the health food shop and a bio-flow collar (which we bought at the vets).

The other thing that helps is small, regular amounts of exercise. No more long country walks for her. :(

Welcome to the forum Lisa :-)

If you type 'Bioflow' into the search facility in the top right hand corner of the forum page and you will get some past threads on this subject.
