Well, even the vets are stunned. Seska has reabsorbed her litter. None of us can believe it. I won't be trying again with her. She will be neutered as soon as she is clear of milk.

Thats awful news :(  Really gutted for you.

How many weeks was she?

Aww I'm so sorry. There seems to be an awful lot going on just lately. Its heartbreaking, and always seems to be well planned litter this is happening to.

Again, so sorry x

So sorry to hear that. It's always the responsible well planned litters that go wrong, never the byb's and puppy farmers!

so sorry, xx

Seska was due on Monday, so she was overdue. I had tried for over a year to get her pregnant (first dog was infertile :-( )so was over the moon when she was confirmed pregnant. I didn't use the vaccine as I had no reason to think she needed it, and I have my own ideas as to the why she reabsorbed. I will never know the reason for it though. Just put it down to nature knowing best. Oh well, tears shed, lets get on with life. She is fit and healthy and playing with her daughter ( must get a bigger house :-) ) so it obviously isn't bothering her any :-p

So very sorry, that is terrible news after all that waiting.

Sorry to hear the news & like has already been said it's alway the well planned litters that go wrong :(

I mated one of my bitches & she reabsorbed so I mated her again giving her the CHV & the litter was a disaster. She had 4 pups & only 1 live pup, the others were mumified so I would never use the CHV again. Needless to say this bitch will be spayed when I can pluck up the courage to do it.

I must admit to thinking towards the end that something had gone wrong, but as she is a deep bitch (vets words ;-) ) we thought that there might be pup(s) hiding up high. She was scanned and x-rayed in the end, just to make sure. Maybe I should go into crossbreeding instead  ;-) only joking :-D

So sorry to hear your sad news :-( Our ESS (since departed to rainbow bridge) re-absorbed her litter at 6 weeks, then got Pymetra :-( so had to be spayed :-( Its heartbreaking isnt it.  Always happens to the wrong people . . .
