How many of you get a new outfit/jacket/suit, etc for CRUFTS? I've been looking for the last couple of weeks for a nice new jacket, and cause cos I'm looking I can't find one!!
- By tooolz Date 19.02.10 20:11 UTC
I've just bought my 'kennel girl' a new outfit for Crufts today but cant find anything for my self. Looks like I'll be going in the same old thing.

I dont bother with anything new, it only gets slobbered and trashed with big paws.  Last year I wore a new scarf and it ended up with so many pulls in it from his lordships nails I had to bin it :(

I get a new jacket every year for Crufts, I nearly always buy it in the January sales and then it becomes my "show" jacket for the rest of the year!

I got a lovely suit last year for the occasion and i didn't get placed, every time i've worn it since its brought me bad luck... So i've ditched that now for shows.. I'm happy in a pair of smart jeans and a nice suit jacket!!

Lola is due in season anytime now - I know I'm gonna end up missing Crufts altogether, so am holding off outfit hunting til the week of Crufts, just in case I don't need it after all. Never been to Crufts before, let alone shown at Crufts, my first show dog, got her qualified, and now she's gonna come into season. Sods law innit :)

Well hats off to you all, at least you are thinking about your outfit......... to many turn up looking like they have just cleaned out the kennels, even at a big show like Crufts..

Also how many of you  have that reserve outfit,..........just in case????????

I know people who do !!

Or at least , wear something that is going to see you through in the lucky event.

Not like the owner/handler of my breed who went into "best in show" 09 dressed like she was walking the dogs.

Mind never seen her any other way!!

I loved it but would not have called most of them stocky.

I am glad that in the UK most ladies wear trousers nowadays.

Hi

Does anybody know of any websites where you can get a nice suit for my 17yr old daughter, just looked on debenhams and its £150-200 for just a jacket, Next don't have colours suitable to show our colour dogs in? and of course has to be trendy or she won't wear it lol

Thanks

Have a look on ebay - I have got some nice ones from there for my daughter.
- By ali-t [gb] Date 23.02.10 13:40 UTC
justme, tbh I think it depends on the shape of your daughter as there are many places that sell suit jackets for young people e.g. Primark.  Primark have some fabulous tailored jackets and trousers but they are usually in black or charcoal which may not be suitable for you.  They are cheap, cheerful and look great on people with the right build who can carry them off with flair.

tk maxx have some nice outfits on the sale rails.

I will be wearing 1 of my 2 usual outfits which I rotate at each show, so I think it'll be the long sleeved suit for Crufts as this weekend I'm due to wear the short sleeved frilly back jacket with black trousers! lol how boring am I!

I'd love a new suit but can't afford it & I can never find what I like in petite!
- By Gemma86 [gb] Date 23.02.10 14:31 UTC
What colour dogs do you have?
- By dollster [gb] Date 23.02.10 15:17 UTC
Always ebay, some nice ms jackets going for £20 instead of £70 sizes 12 and 14
- By kenya [gb] Date 23.02.10 15:41 UTC
I have a Joules jacket that I wear all year and too crufts, only spectating this year, but will still wear it to justify spending £175, but worth every penny.
They have a few in there Spring Sale at the moment.

Have you tried a Next outlet store... We have a black dog that has to be stacked and daughter wanted a pink suit... they had some last year at Next and we found some at the Next Clearance.. When we started looking, all the winter stock had come in and it was pretty well black, black and black!
- By Gemma86 [gb] Date 24.02.10 09:28 UTC
I'm 5ft and a size 10 and i've got a lovely Next suit in a grey check type, it didn't look overly nice on the shelves, it looked very officey but i tried it on and it looked really good on, i wear a black or white strappy vest underneath like i got from primark! :)

What group are the dogs in, sometimes  that can influence your choice of outfit.
