Can you give dogs a raw duck egg, we have a few again, and I dont cook/bake with them that often.

I would say they would be fine, i would give them if I could get them altho I love them so much the dogs would have to share them with me and my kids! :-)

I would think they'd be ok too, just give them less often than chicken eggs. They are a lot richer, i would imagine they could give the runs.

I don't think eggs cause this problem. My friend's dad used to give them to lambs that he was hand rearing in order to cure them of the scours (runs). They have never caused a problem with my dogs :-)

Seriously anyone thast keeps ducks will have them, I don't think they lay as regularly as chickens though.

Certainly seen duck eggs advertised alongside Free range eggs where we stay at the caravan on the Brendon Hills in Somerset.

They have these dispensers for selling the eggs automatically at the gate.

My local butcher sells Duck eggs, and also Goose eggs.... once he even had Turkey eggs.
I admit I don't really buy them (never tried Goose or Turkey either) as we had a flock of Muscovy ducks when I was growing up so I probably had enough duck eggs to last me a lifetime: my packed lunch for school was more often than not Duck Egg Mayonnaise sandwiches. I must say they make the most fabulous cakes if you use them in baking, my mum's Victoria Sponge cakes were deep yellow in colour from the duck eggs. Muscovies seem to lay very well, we only had 8 females and only one ever went broody.

How often do people feed eggs?  I have only recently started adding them to my bitches diet.  Currently she gets fish once a week and a raw egg once a week.  I would love to feed her egg more often as I'm seeing improvements to her coat and she loves them, how ever she is only a couple of inches taller than a cavalier and an egg is actually a large amount of food for a dog that big.  Just wondering if anyone else out there is feeding raw egg to small dogs, and if so how ofter?

My Border T's get 1 raw egg including shell twice a week, and the larger ones get them 3 times a week, they have great coats and love  there eggs!!

Thanks, shes had fish all her life (shes nearly 2) which gives a nice shine but she struggles to keep coat.  It seems to be thickening slightly after just 4 weeks, as the weather improves I may up her to 2 a week.  She will be pleased!

My 3 have a couple each once or twice a week, whole on the patio, watching the pup with a whole egg is quite funny. She throws it up in the air and waits for it to smash, rolling it around and pouncing on it before it cracks.

well when i got my ducks i was told that she would only lay here and there,which she did do for a while,but one morning i went up to let them out and found two eggs.this carried on then i was fluffing up theyte bed one night and found she'd layed another so that was three eggs in one day.
i used to have loads of duck eggs dogs loved em.unfortunatly no matter how deep down in concrete we built the duck pen the fox was always one step ahead of us and eventully he got em.i wont have anymore ducks i just cant keep em safe.not even electric fencing helped.
