- By kenya [gb] Date 18.02.10 17:29 UTC
Looking to upgrade my Van, and like the look of the Vauxhall's, does anybody have one, and what do you think of it, We have danes so need a bit of room in the back.

Thanks

Yes...we have 2...they're great!  Not used for animals though...only work...but great vans & we wouldn't use anything else now.

Wouldn't have a vauxhall again if you get any problems they do not want to know.

A friend of mine bought a fairly new one a couple of years ago, she loves it to drive but has had n o end of problems with it and has cost her over two grand in problems  and it only had 7k on the clock.  I've just bought a new van and was looking at the Vivaro and the place I ended up buying a transit from are not selling Vivaros any more after they have sold the two they have left as they have had no end of problems with them too.  I had a mechanic out to do something to my van today who ssaid he was really a Vauhall man but wouldn't touch the Vivaro as again in his experience there have been a lot of problems with them compared to other vans.

I have an ex police dog unit one which came with the 4 cages fitted and so far so good. Its lovely to drive, easy on the steering and plenty of power!

Mine is the Zafira and problems with the clutch it grates and when cold cannot get it into any gear when starting its Vauxhalls attitude I don't like.

My other half said the police van was looked after by their mechanics so you probably got a good van.

I love my vauxhall. Its the new shape astra, not a van but I think they are great :)

I have a Zafira with a custom made cage in the boot area, easily fit 2 gsd's and a rotty inside and when I need to, I remove the cage and it becomes a 7 seater.  I used to work for a Vauxhall garage and the Vivaro was known as being very reliable.

I have a older 51 Astra estate and I love it.
It's my third Astra estate, 2nd diesel 1.7 Izuzu engine and :) very happy.
I'm hoping to upgrade to the newer version in a couple of years :)
Plus it helps having a friend who is a vauxhall mechanic, so reasonable maintenance costs :)

Mine is a Vauxhall engine and that is probably the problem. Do you think your vauxhall mechanic would let me ask him what the problem could be. My sons brought the Mini bus and that leaked. He thinks the older models were the best as he has had several Vauxhalls starting with the carlton.

I have had 3 Zafiras now last model and 2 of the new ones, all top end spec never one bit of problem. Actually went away from them to the Ford for 6 months and came right back to the Zafira for the dog car.

My new one is doing 50 MPG no problem to..

Put 90K on the first one, 90k on the second and now have 70K on the 3rd it's 2 years old.

I brought a 64 a year and  half ago from a maindealer I am wondering if there was a problem from begining as in the first 3 months we had a set of glow plugs and a starter motor. We wanted them to take it back and change it but they wouldn't and the clutch has been a problem from start they say it is us but we know there's a problem specially when cold and you cannot get it into any gear.
