Im thinking about going along to watch on Saturday i know the judging starts at 10, but doesn anyone know were it is being held in Carnoustie? If anyone knows the toy classes could you let me know? I cant find anything online about it

The shows in Carnoustie are down at the Beach Hall Leisure Centre, beside the golf club. Plenty of parking spaces, and the dogs get a run on the beach afterwards ;-) If you're up to it at this time of year :-D

I live on the beach front in broughty ferry so im well used to it haha! That's great i will go have a look.

Would I be able to take my pug puppy? he's 4 months. I go to ringcraft every week with him, but would like him to get a feel for the show atmosphere if you know what i mean? I would just carry him about he wouldn't be on the ground. I no at most shows you cant take non entered dogs. Someone said to bring him but I'm a bit unsure. Don't want to get there and he has to end up being left in the car.

You won't be able to take your puppy into the show, but can walk outside the venue with him, its a nice vanue with the beach, My OH is going with our Dane.

Usually at open shows you can take your youngsters in without anyone questioning them :-) Certainly I've always done this :-)

Ive been told by someone else i can, but im worried i bring him and we cant get in

You can't take him into the show venue eg. in the hall but you can walk him on the beach outside.

And if Liz Farningham catches you, you'll be told to take the dog outside!  Its really tightened up now except for Dundee in Camperdown Park.

ok thanks for that!

I doubt they could do much about camperdown!

He can just stay at home

thanks

I used to live on Gray Street (above Goodfellow & Stevens;-) ) so know the area well :-)

My dad still lives just off Balgillo Road so go back from time to time.

Not that I've noticed, I popped into Ingliston a couple of weeks ago with my silken pup (and to a couple of shows at the Magnum Centre last year) to see a friend, she's not even a KC recognised breed and nobody questioned her being there :-) If the society doesn't send out passes how will they know if a dog is unentered? I've found if you look like you belong (pedigree bag over shoulder) then it's fine :-)

Of course if someone did report you then you would have to take the pup out and it could ruin your day, it's never happened to me or the many people I know that take babies out for socialisation, but then maybe I move in different circles - hound folk are a friendly bunch... it must be the pack instinct :-)

tigger2, the beach hotel in carnoustie is tiny so it would be really easy to spot any animal that wasn't meant to be there.

Ah ok, never been there :-)

lol, just read my post back that you quoted. I've got serious dyslexic fingers!  It is a beach hall not hotel - that made it sound very grand rather than a skanky old hall that the sports centre was attached to.  Lovely beach though.

I know Liz the Secretary is very strict over rules!!
- By flattiemum [gb] Date 19.02.10 09:12 UTC
Why not phone the secretary and explain the situation as you have done here and ask whether you can or cannot take in pup.
You can only get a no and then you would know where you were
- By scotgal2009 [gb] Date 19.02.10 10:23 UTC
i would do but i dont know her number.
