Oh my gosh, the snow is settling think & fast here (Gloucestershire). It started just after 9 am, for the first hour it melted as soon as it landed, but since then it has settled. It's now about 3 inches deep  with snow still coming down so thinkly it's getting hard to see out of the windows. The flakes are HUGE.

Our street is on a hill (up hill to get out of our street), OH & I have allready pushed a car up the road (after sugesting they put the car in 2nd gear, NOT 1st!) as the person was skidding all over the place. Now, thankfully, people seem to have the sense to not bother trying to make it up/down our road.

For anybody else with heavy snow like this - stay safe.

it toook my dad 3.5 hours to get to work on tues, a journey that only takes a hour normally. he was driving through 4 inch of snow that had settled on 2 inch of compact ice, 15mins from his work. and yet there is no snow where we live. he works in glossop derbyshire

Looks like most of the midlands are going to cop it with the snow today.. The south looks like it will stay clear of the stuff, thankfully..

Yes stay safe everyone, i know we've all had enough of it now..

Last week Kent was hit very badly, everything came to a stand still and the gritters didnt do any road that time other than the main ones, it was trecherous, even the buses didnt run for 2 days.
I'm sick of the stuff now.

No snow here yet (hampshire) although we are forecast for 'wintery showers' over the weekend!

My parents are travelling back from Lincolnshire as I type and are driving through heavy snow blizzards :(

Oooh Glossop - that's where I live!  We've had snow off and on for the last few days, but I travel to work by train, and that's been OK.  Stunning views from the top of Dinting Viaduct! :-)

When the school bus turned up this morning the driver asked me where the snow had come from! There was nothing a mile down the road, but I was sweeping the path clear of almost an inch ;-) It has almost gone now though.
