Help! My son is driving me mad. He passed his test in Novemeber and we have ben looking for a car ever since. He is very specific about his requirements!! ( did you know 4 doors were for OAP's :) )
Anyway, we have located just the thing on autotrader, it's shown as 4 miles away from us (so close yet so far) the mobile phone number given says the phone can't accept my call. I have tried texting, phoning autotrader who were as much use as...... they have the same number. He has just reduced it by £500 (obviously as he is not getting a response!)
Is there any operator service that could send him an alert or any way that I can contact him. I'm really frustrated because if this could be bought then I would be able to stop surfing car websites and would be able to spend Sundays at home rather than scouring garages.
Any suggestions greatfully received.

I'm presuming there's no email address given in the ad? I imagine auto trader would have an email address, then you could at least email a message explaining the situation. I hope you get something sorted soon.
Lol at four doors being for OAPs. :)
No e mail, according to autotrader they only have this phone number. I aked if it could be traced via his payment details and they weren't having any of it!! Maybe I have to accept that it is not meant to be with this car and keep on searching.
When I passed my test I would have driven anything, I accept responsibility for bringing up fussy kids :(
Thanks anyway.

No sawheaties I ve got one too. She is taking her test on 22nd and is insistant that she wants to get a car yesterday. She has some money but not enough imo and as you say the list of must haves is sooo long.
Now I know why I have 4 doors must be a sign of aging. Sorry dont have any suggestions do auto trader really not take addresses ?
Try searching for it on eBay, Gumtree or the free ads in your local paper. A lot of people list their cars in several places to get a sale.
Alternatively can you see any part of a recognisable location in the photo? If it's local you might know where to do a drive by...
Good luck :)

Umm to me it's giving warning signs to go e;sewhere!

I am also a registered dealer on Autotrader.
Is it a provate add or a trader add? If trade then google the name of the company
If its private.. then your pretty much stuffed as there was probally a typo in the number.
PM your way tho.

have you tried putting the mobile number into google? It may be registered for something else that links it to an address or a landline. You could also try doing this with the number plate but that may be less successful unless he has it on a facebook/bebo/personal web page.
http://www.mobilelocate.co.uk/?gclid=CMPH49ex8p8CFZAA4wod_k98YA I have never used it before but found a link for a mobile tracking service which may be of use
>did you know 4 doors were for OAP's
but so much easier for getting your mates in, does he know how much damage mates do constantly climbing into the back of a 3 door car !!!
