hi all,
has iam a nosey person,i would like to know how you came about choosing your breed - breeds of dogs,
i have staffords and a golden retriever,
the staffords i choose because they are known as the nanny dog and are excellent
with kids,my vet helped me pick the stafford too.
my darling old boy the goldie was mistreated by his owners and i offered them money there an then for him and they took it.id seen him about alot and feel in love with him.knew he would be mine one day just had to wait for the right day
ie they needed the money for drink i give it to them and i got the dog.that was 11 years ago now.
deb.

I picked our one dog Taz (wolf/rott) because I love wolves. Did the basic puppy test because with kids, and we wanted a layed back friendly dog/hybrid. The boston terriers we picked because we love the way they look, pushed in faces and short haired, don't shed much. Also as my husband put it a dog with some muscle. They don't realize they are little dogs. We did puppy tests on them as well. Now I could never live with out a boston Terrier.

Hi Deb,
I chose King Charles Cavaliers as I used to spend all of my free time when I wasn't at school walking a teachers cavy for her. I adored him and new I'd have some of my own one day. I have two!!!
I also have a doberman bitch, who to be honest we picked after months and months of research as a guard dog. We have stables and had a few thiefts. Although she is family pet her presence is enough to deter most people.

I'm quite wary of smaller dogs but adore larger dogs. I've always been a dog person, as a child I constantly dognapped peoples pooches. I fell in love with malamutes before I even knew what breed they were. I think they are the most handsome of all the breeds. The more I learnt about them the more I felt it was a breed that was very compatible with myself and my family. They love people and having a child thats quite important,I want her to respect/enjoy animals. I found an american website that held the statistics for fatalities caused by dog bites per annum, malamutes were amongst the safest breeds which was fundamental in my desicion to offer a mal a home. Nowadays there is just no other dog that compares for me they are the best.I still adore all dogs,it's just malamutes have something very special about them......when they're not breaking wind in front of guests :D

I ended up with Pomeranian's when my brother was seriously ill when I was younger. Unfortunately I had to move about whilst my parent were with him at a hospital in Liverpool. My parents had rough collies at the time and they said that I cd. have a dog of my own. at the time I wanted a yorkie but my mum said that they were common and took me to see a pom. Well 20 yrs. on we still have pom's and I show them.
How did I come across SWD's. Went to the World Show in Spain 10 years ago. Myself and 3 friends fell in love with them and thought that we may import some a couple of years later, 3 months later I was back in Spain picking 2 up. They are not the easiest of breeds all of the time, but they are the most affectionate of breeds and I cdn't. do without one now, that may be why I've got 4 and no man.
