Withdrawal from a breed class is usually frowned upon, Not always, quite often at actual breed club shows people bring youngsters out or new dogs out and if they don't show in a class they just don't take them back it. It depends on the circumstance. I personally have never seen anyone frowning at anyone..

People get too wrapped up in others  :-) :-)  I don't mean you JG just in general.

you can withdraw from AV classes to be eligible for BIS/BIG/BPIS/BPIG, but not the breed classes

Moonmaiden actually has here that you cannot withdrawn from the breed class you can withdraw only the AV class.

Didn't mean to jump in and take a side I just remember the thread well.

I don't think for a minute that our puppy will ever achieve a JW, but I am so kicking myself for not taking our other dog to the show where he won BP AND BOB, although a popular breed, a show at the venue the week before stopped a lot of people off from going, including us with the bitch!  It ended up with only 2 dogs participating in the breed, if she'd been there, there would of been three entered and he could of gained 1 point!

Tanya you only need one class win at a champ show, obviously beating at least two other dogs, i found the champs not to bad, my girl won 18 points at these, its the opens i had trouble with, so many of them just did'nt have enough dogs attending in our breed, and i know i use to regularly bump into two young dogs chasing the JW, one gained it and the other finished on 20 points i think. Bitches are more difficult i thin as you have to discount at least 6 weeks of shows due to seasons

We have a wirehaired Vizsla, who, as a breed will not get cc's until 2011, does this excluded them from JW's, monty is 9 months old and off to his 1st show on saturday,

yeah, lol. i meant a minimum amount of wins would be 8 if winning at champ plus 1 openshow win, and at worst you would need to attend 22 open shows with wins and 1 champ show. i realise you only need one champ show win. i didnt word it very well lol
