Does anyone have an idea of what a rabies vaccination costs for an animal going out of the UK but not with the UK Pet Passport?  I can ask at my vet but I'm not down there until Friday so I was just wondering.........& pondering............

I had a pup go out to Canada last year who needed a rabies at 12wks.   We documented everything in the passport as needed the health certificates completing on appropriate pages 24hrs before he flew out of the country BUT as he wasn't coming back to UK didn't complete the passport with rabies blood tests etc.

From memory I think the rabies cost about £35.00 - 40.00 including consultation fee.

The final health check 24 hrs prior to export was about £30.00 with consultation fee

I'm just about to get my 2 yr olds passport set up.  At my vet from initial injection to full passport costs £145 as long as your dog is already microchipped, otherwise you have to pay for that as well.  A friend coming with me from another part of the country is being charged £200, and a third £175.  So there is variations as with all vets, but you have 3 prices there to check you're not being ripped off!
