Did anybody see it? I have been told there was a piece about the laws in China being changed.

You mean about eating dog/cat?  http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/12793

I was told that there was no warning to what was shown and many people have found it very distressing. So I was looking into it.

Polly,

have you looked at ITN's Archives online? I found this:
http://www.itnsource.com/shotlist//ITN/2010/02/08/T08021037/

Is that it?

I am sure I posted about it on here a while back with a link when the news broke.

I  didn't see it, but have had several people contact me as I write for Our Dogs. So I asked here as I knew somebody here would know where it was on TV.

I didn't think the news item explained things very well,in particular the Chinese belief that the more the dog is tortured when it is killed the more flavour the meat will have. So,its really not possible to compare eating dogs in China with eating beef or lamb over here,we at least have strict laws on how food animals are killed.Although I have to say the shot of the dog being dragged out screaming and kicked was upsetting.

I saw a split second of it before I managed to turn over, I do think they should have issued warnings.
