Just wondering what you should do if you have entered a show some time in advance of the closing date. In the time leading up to 7 days before the closing date, you win a couple of classes which push you out of the qualification for the classes you'd entered at the forthcoming show...
EG, you've entered in Novice, because you've only won a breed class twice, you win another before the 7 days before the closing date, should you contact the secretary to move classes or is anyone going to bother about it?

YOu can tell the steward and sec. on the day and change classes

Or you could email/tel the secretary and ask them to move you up if the entries havent closed.
But if its 7 days before the close of entry as the schedule states you are still entitled to go in the class

This happened to us we told the judge and steward on the day and they just kept us in the class

Yes as dollster says it would be better to contact the secretary before to move class, as this is much easier than on the day when the sec is busy. plus you will be in the right class in catalogue. But if you win within the 7 day qualification you would be ok...so if entries close on 13th Feb the 7th day would be 6th Feb so wins before the 6th count but wins after are allowed. Hope that makes sense & answers your question
Thank you all, as it happens, our third win that takes us out of Novice looks like it only applies to the AV/Stakes classes as 2 were in breed and one in a stakes class so if I've read the catalogues correctly, I can still enter Novice in the breed, but if I wanted to do AV Gundog I would have to move up to Post grad or whatever the next is. However, if I get another lucky win in a breed class, then she has to move up..
If that's correct, the only show I've entered I'm in the breed Novice class but only the Junior Handling. All the other shows already have gone past the closing date so I think todays 1st doesn't count. Seems a bit daft as she's only had the wins as no-one else turned up!

Unfortunately that happens
I'm not complaining! We don't take it too seriously and I don't intend to show her as something she isn't in order to breed from her, in fact, she'll probably be speyed in the summer. Most Open shows don't pose a problem as there are not that many Novice classes anyway, more likely to be in Post Grad

I didn't think you were, just saying that it's a bummer when that happens...get knocked out of Maiden/Novice when there is only 1 entry :)
