I had my little girl mated last March 2009 and she had 3 puppies in May of last year, this was my first time and I would like to breed from her again at some point. I'm in no rush, but I was wondering how long I should leave it until it's considered reasonable to have her mated again. She has had one season since and I wondered whether it would be her next season or the one after. Could anyone give me some advice please?

hi i think the recommondation is to skip a heat cycle, and breed on the next so she has time to fully recover. good luck
After 12 months or so for the sake of your bitch and then whenever you need another puppy to continue your line.
Personally I like to give them at least 18 months in between, preferrably longer, to give time to recover.

With a small litter id give 12 months if the bitch had a large litter 18/ 24 months.
The added benefit of waiting a bit longer is to see how the pups from the last litter have developed in regards to temp, quality and good health tests.

Depends on the size of the litter but 12 months is fine. I have a girl that had a litter 12 weeks ago, you can't even tell, bags etc. have totally gone and she looks extremely fit. She did only have two, average litter is 6.

We Have a toy breed,if we wanted another litter we would let her have a season in between and then mate her on the next one, this has worked fine for us.
