I have a 7mth old alaskan malamute, and i'm looking to buy a blaster, but there are so many to choose from can anyone advise on which one would be best to cope with her double coat.

dezynadog do one thats incredible, but might be more than what you need. it looks like a henry hoover and is incredibly powerful. it can dry 5 adult leos in 3 hours. there are some on ebay for about £100 and are suitable for doing one dog with
ebay onedezynadog
A friend has recently bought a blaster with heater from ebay. It is an aeolous (check spelling) She has a GSD and Giant Schnauzer and is delighted with it. It cost her about £90

I have a doublek blaster , use it on my samoyeds and it does a really good job
Thank's Tanya think iv'e seen that one on dezynadog, will check it out.
Do you no which one she got as there are a few models?
I've not heard of that one where did you get it from?

the aeolus ones mentioned above are good and cheap. they are a german copy of another make i think, but cant remember the original make. my friend is a groomer and owns akitas, she uses this for her salon and personal use and it really suits her. i like it because the pipe is narrow so you can grab it easy, whereas the dezynadog one has a wider pipe, to accomodate power, but you have to have hands the size of dust bin lids to hold it securely.
she gets one monster of an akita bathed and dried in just over an hour with the aeolus one
redcape.co.uk do double k, but they arent cheap, mind you, neither is dezynadog one

Another vote for the Aolus, both my friend and I have one. We purchased ours at LKA and paid about £135, but I see you can get them off Ebay for £120 buy it now.
I've got an ebay one, quite adequate to sort out 4 cockers on a marathon wash session. It is noisy but I don't think the more expensive ones are a lot quieter

i've got an Aeolus one. got it at LKA. more power than the ones advertised online as they only sell them at shows. has a heat option and only £120. I think from canine concept.
I have got the Aeolus TD-901 , fab for my newfies blasting the water off after bath or swim and the heat in it is plenty for drying would recommend to anyone

Any suggestion how you get a dog used to a blaster. Brought one at Crufts last year but my dog hates and goes mad when I use but doesn't mind a hairdryer but it takes so long to dry.
Make sure that the dog is securely restrained on a grooming table. Switch it on away from the dog and keep talking as though it's the most natural thing in the world. Blast it on your left arm first while tickling the dog on the chest and still talking normally. Then start from on the dog's rump from quite a distance away so that the dog only feels the breeze. Brush with your left hand (which the dog is used to) and blast with your right, gradually moving the blaster nearer as the dog gets used to it.
I used a blaster in the grooming parlour for 16 years, even on tiny Yorkies, instead of towels and never had a dog that I couldn't use it on. :)

He hates the noise of it and when I once took him to a grooming parlor he hated it there as well.
