Hey guys just a quick question.
I have a pug puppy dog. Hes 16 weeks and seems to be fit and healthy and growing like a bean sprout! He LOVES his food, hes currently getting fed RC and has been getting that ever since he started dry food.
I know all dogs have a 'itchy spot' but hes LOVES getting scratched and i noticed he seems to be using his back leg to scratch his side (near his wee curly tail) more and more often. His coat is still very shiney but i have noticed little bits of white dandruff.
Do you think this is just a dog thing? Would anyone suggest anything?
Hes been wormed to date and doesnt have fleas! His bed is kept clean and he is groomed often.
Thanks in advance :-D

Hi, he might have a skin mite called cheyletiellosis...also known as "walking dandruff". Its very itchy and the dogs scratch a lot.
It is contagious and can be transferred to humans...Im not saying that your pup has got this..but I would get it checked at the vets just to be sure.
Hope this helps:)

Just a thought but perhaps the RC might be a bit rich for him...but I would get the vet to check his "Dandruff" first tho.
Hey thanks for your reply.
My neighbour is a retired vet and i just chapped on his dor with pug on tow! He said that its nothing to be worried about and that he couldnt see his dandruff and that im paranoid. I told him the dandruff comes out when i scratch him or he scratches and he said thats normal since its sucha a small amount. I told him hes not scratching all the time just sometimes and its the same spot he does it. He said its quite common for a dog to have a 'itchy oh ah spot' haha!!
Im just so paranoid about him, hes my baby!!!
He has his 4 month check up in a week so i will mention it to the vet then aswel.
