Hi there,

Im new to dog showing and im planning on taking my wee pug to some shows for puppy classes when he is old enough which is in April. He has his first ringcraft class tomorrow which im quite excited about! Hes such a nice wee fella and im sure he would love to go out and about to shows and would love the sights and smells!

Is there anyone out there that is from Scotland and knows of any shows from about Arpil onwards? I know there is a pug show in Edinburgh in April which we might go to, i will see how he matures.

He has amazing breeding and i think it would be nice to keep his generation going strong in the show ring :-D

I would post pictures of him but i dont think you can???

Welcome to dog showing :-)

There are two toy dog clubs in Scotland.

One is the Scottish Toydog Society who hold two open shows a year in Bonnybridge Community Centre the first show being held 10/04/2010 and the second held 10/10/2010.  Secretay is Liz Lynch

The other is North of Scotland Toydog Society who hold two open shows a year in Arbroath Community Centre the first show being held 02/05/2010 and the second held 06/11/2010.  Secretary is Astrid Oglivie

The Scottish Pug Dog Club holds an champ show on 17/04/2010 and an open show on 24/10/2010 both held at the Corn Exchange, Haddington.   Secretary Stuart Payne

If you need any other info feel free to ask. I will PM the secretary contact details for you.

Thanks very much for the info!

do you have a list of all the shows in scotland this year? I keep getting info of shows like rutherglen kennel club open show etc, but there is just no way of finding out about them online.

Im sure i will find out more at the ringcraft class tonight.

Hope you enjoyed your night at ringcraft.  Ringcraft is usually the best way to find out about local open shows and to pick up schedules for both open and champ shows.

Here are some websites to visit
http://printmatters.info/printmatters3/dogshow/index.html
and
http://www.pitalpin.co.uk/
you can also purchase a Scottish Show Dates diary for £5  from the Scottish Kennel Club.
For champ shows visit
http://www.fossedata.co.uk/
and
http://www.highampress.co.uk/
there are others but we could end up with a list as long as your arm :-) LOL

There are usually a selection of schedules at our ringcraft classes so you might find some where you go to.

How did you get on at ringcraft lastnight?

Bet you met loads of folk who were helpful.  And you probably came away with an arm load of schedules.  :-)

Hi there,

ringcraft was really interesting last night! Angus was a show off, the woman that ran it said he was of amazing quality and were really interested in him which was nice! Someone even asked if he was for sale!
It was his first time on the table and he was really good. The only thing he isnt good at is standing still on the ground. But he is only a puppy and im not going to take that away from him! Mr 'Ants in my pants' Angus!

There was only one schedule for a scottish champ show in May! Pretty gutted there isnt a minor puppy class.

I have a spare schedule for Angus & Kincardine (held at Arbroath) if you want? It's a members' limited show with a pug open class but there is av toy minor puppy and av toy puppy class. Let me know if you.

Oh sorry I didn't give you the date!! It's the 4th of April so not much use. :-(

Tayside & Lochee (again at Arbroath) is on 14/4, Scottish Pug Champ (at Haddington) on 17/4, Perthshire (at Perth ice rink) 18/4, but I haven't seen schedules for them yet.

wow thats quite alot of shows in one month!! I cant find info for any appart from champ shows.
I wonder how i could get the schedules?

Im just doing the showing as a hobby to give me something to do in my spare time, but im already excited about his first outing. It will just be for fun tho, not going to get to involved as i may be dissapointed!
