Due to getting a new computer I now have to reload my old software onto it to retrieve my files.  I have used Microsoft money for years religously - must be hours of work there.   I can't find my original disc anywhere - the software is no longer available.  The last edition was 2005 which I think I had - no-one uses it anylonger it seems.  Now all my records have gone.  Likewise our little company's records were on Microsoft Access and that isn't available any longer.  Why didn't I just stick to paper and pen in the beginning instead of being fooled into using a computer.  I feel cheated.

Have you still got access to your old computer?   If so, I would try copying Microsoft money onto disk/memory stick and then load onto the new computer.  

No the mother board had gone and goodness knows what else.  The guy who repaired it could pull my files off but not the software.

Have you tried looking on Ebay ?

Not yet - just Amazon market place - they were asking ridiculous prices for used copies.  I am hoping that my daughter finds her copy - she has the empty box!!!!!

Yep - someone wants £100 for a 2001 copy!  Very rare!  It didn't even cost that much then. 

You could try asking for it on freecycle or gumtree, perhaps someone has an old copy lying around they would be happy to give you.

I may have an old version of both Money and Access, but it may take a few days to unearth it. Should I be able to find it you are welcome to it.

That's very good of you thanks very much.  I have also told my son who often can get hold of things - but he has been so busy lately and with his in-laws arriving tomorrow I don't think I will be seeing much of him this weekend.

Talking of birds on the garden birdwatch thread - that is another piece of software that has gone missing - my bird identifaction disc.  Have just tidied up all my CDs - maybe something will turn up.
