hi everyone, my pug is almost 14 weeks old and hes had this little cut on his willy since ive had him, i took him to the vets when i noticed it (its about 1 or 2 mm big) and the vet said it was fine , and that it was common in litters to had little cuts and bruises. he said that it was healing anyway so there was nothing to worry about. only it still hasnt changed so 3 days ago i took him for his second vaccination and asked the vet about it and she gave me a cream to apply twice a day ive done this and i have noticed that it has gone smaller but not much at all. then yesterday, he was really excited playing an his little " lipstick" came out of the hole! this worried me alot! the vet only asked me if he had been urinating from this cut and he hasnt
but i assumed that the " lipstick" would come from the same place ?
the vet told me to apply the cream and go back in 10 if it hasnt dissapeared im really worried.
also my aunt has his brother and he has the same cut in the same place only his is a little bigger, were both really worried as its not in a very normal place
HELP!!!!!

Did you ask his breeder about this when you picked them up?

Also the lipstick is his Willy.  In dogs the design means that it is packaged up in a nice little bag (his sheath), and only comes out if he gets excited ;) or sometimes when over relaxed.

It sounds like he has a cut on his sheath, possibly because a sibling has caught it.

Are you sure it is a cut on the sheath and not the slit that is meant to be there? There should be a little hole at the end (where you see the wee coming out of) and stretching back out of this, should be a bit of a slit (so the willy can come out - as it wouldn't fit out of the little wee hole).

You shouldn't see urine coming out of the slit, as the end of the willy should be at the end of the sheath (if wee was coming out of the slit, the willy would be back too far inside of the sheath). The willy does come out of the 'wee-hole' but also will stretch the sheath so it is coming out of the 'slit' too (if that makes any sense?).

i was thinking this too, only didnt want to write it lol, thinking the vet must have seen it if it was a cut

Yes me to Tanya especially as the other dog has exactly the same slit only bigger

I did wonder about this, but if there was a cut/soreness on/near the slit, then the vet wouldn't have explained that the slit is meant to be there, he would have just offered advice/treatment for the scratch, assuming that that is what had been pointed out (if you see what I mean? )

i should have been more specific ,
right, the cut is ontop of the sheath the slit is at the bottom
you have to push the sheath down to see the cut
its about 2 mm and the other day about 5mm of his willy was poking out of it
the vet told me that she had heard of wee coming from a cut there before ( which in my dogs case the wee is coming from where its supposed to ) but later on that night about half a centimeter of his willy came from the cut.

Ahhh, yep, it shouldn't be there!

Take him back to the vets and explain that his willy has actually poked out through the cut, as obviously it's not just a surface scratch - it goes right through the sheath. In the mean-time, keep an eye on him and make sure his willy doesn't get stuck out through the cut.

Best of luck.
