Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Training in Fife

Hi all -- I'm new to the board and looking for tips for where to get training for my 5-month-old pup, a collie cross. I'm in Fife (west) but would travel for the right trainer. Looking for positive reinforcements methods, clicker training, etc. I've seen the "squirt 'em in the face & drag 'em around by the neck" training and it NOT for me or my dog.

Someone suggested the APDT website, but then I read on an old post on this forum that not all those trainers are that great. I don't have time to check them all out -- does anyone here have a recommendation of a particular trainer that they found quite helpful? I'm looking for a class of 4-8 dogs, 10 at the very most.

Thanks very much!

I would suggest you have another look at the APDT site.  there arent that many in your area.  You really should make the time to check them out before you take along a dog. everyone is looking for something in particular. only you can decide.

We used to go to Kairyn's classes in Milnathort and Perth and found them very good. She uses clicker training methods. Worth giving her a ring maybe? HTH
