A family member has just rescued a Shar pei. She was very badly beaten and is such a scared little girl she has been hiding under the table since she got her, she's slowly started venturing out and has even wagged her tail! She is currently being fed on tined pedigree :-( Im just wondering what they generly do well on? I know nothing of the breed, so really dont have a clue! Help please! :-)
She could certainly do with being on a better quality food. I know lots on CD feed dry complete, but I feed wet and dry. I'm using Royal Canin, but lots on here recommend Arden Grange. To give mine wet, I mix butcher's tripe in with the complete.
There will be loads of recommendations from other CD'ers for you.
I feed mine on AG and the little one on Nature diet, they do great on them, just wasnt sure if Shar pei's needed anything different? I really know nothing about them, the family member thought she was doing her best by giving the dog the most expensive food in the supermarket!
Kiger....shar pei need a low protein food.....recommended ones for this breed are James Wellbeloved....Burn's....Autarky....i have also used Proplan with success over the years. Supermarket foods are no good for shar pei, she will end up with itchy skin if she's not careful.....try to aim for less than 22% protein.
> Hope that Chi and GSD are doing well! Talk about little and large :-) :-)
Yeah they are both doing great! big one has lost a little weight since she was spayed, its slowly coming back on. Im going to be doing more obedience with little one this year, he is just so good at it, it would be such a shame if we didnt carry on. Ive been thinking about adding another little girl to the family :-) Hope are your lot are all good and well :-)
