Hi my son has brought a new PS3 and when attempting to connect it to the internet it fails because 'connection timed out'.
The PS3 finds the homehub ok and the we put in the security key but then when it checks the network configuration it takes a while then says its timed out.

Any ideas how to fix? I have refreshed the homehub but still no joy.

No advice I'm afraid just all my sympathy, it can be an utter nuisance trying to get consoles online. Actually a teeny bit of advice, if you know how to access your router page with its settings on it, it could be that you need to turn on the UpNp (universal plug and play). Thats what I had to do with my last router and it all worked lovely after. Having issues myself with getting gaming network to join up with house network at the moment, so infuriating, I wish i knew what I was doing!

We couldn't get my son's PS3 to work wirelessly with our BT homehub. Ended up buying a very long internet cable and connecting it up that way. We even bought a new homehub to see if that helped and it didn't.

Hmmm, might try plugging the xbox into router with a cable then, they are quite close to each other so it would be less hassle than trying to get the information I need from the 'technical support' people to open the NAT ports.

Well he's managed to connect now but i have had to move the homehub across the desk a bit. It still will sign him off and then he cant always get back on line which is frustrating me cos all i can hear is him shouting about it! for some reason once connected he still cant download playstation home.
we would need a very long ethernet cable to connect direct with the hub and it would trail all up the stairs.

The playstation forum site doesn't help that much as everyone has similiar problems but not able to solve.
