What tests should the parents have?  Does the breed club insist on any?

Just a friend was having a pup and she thought that the parents had been hipscored but they haven't.  What are peoples views on this?

Here are the tests generally recommended for Cocker Spaniels but not all breeders will do all tests (and of course some do none at all):

Annual eye test for GPRA & CPRA + gonioscopy for predisposition to Glaucoma
DNA test for prcd_PRA
DNA test for FN (fatal kidney disease)
Hip Scoring

KC Accredited Breeders are required to annually eye test plus do the gonioscopy test and only recommended to do the DNA test for prcd_PRA & hip scoring.
