Hi guys

Ive just been bout tickets for every day of crufts from a friend after my awful year last year.  My problem now is trying to find the cheapest accomodation possible.  I stayed in a motel on the side of the motor way last year about 10mins away but cant for the life of me think of the name, just remember it being yellow in colour? lol any suggestions?

- By Thompson1 [gb] Date 19.01.10 23:11 UTC

you've left it a bit late you could try campanile ,travellodge or quality hotels (not all take dogs)

I left it to the last minute last year and paid £40 for a room 1/2hr away from the NEC..

Nuneaton is half an hour from the nec and we have rooms still available at Travelodge...

I can rent you a room for the duration of Crufts, you can bring dogs. I am 5 minutes away.

Think I have left it far to late as I cant find anywhere still reasonable

We used to stay at a very comfortable and homely farmhouse b & b two mins from the NEC but when the chaps daughter took on the running of it she doubled the prices and started putting restictions on the dogs.

My daughter now lives near Warrington so I stay with her.

Have a look at the places near Birmingham that are on the train route.
We stayed  5 minutes away from the train station on the hotel end and 15 minutes train trip to NEC...
I think it was £45 for the room and we drove there and took the train to NEC in the morning.
It was very easy, probably easier had we stayed in Birmingham and on the area near NEC...

we are staying in Dudley in a quality hotel 25 mins from NEC for £50 dogs free (not all quality take dogs) , dont want to have to travel at 4.30 in the morning gives me a few hours extra ZZZZZZZZ. :)

Try Travel Inn Coventry City Centre, some nights rooms are only £29 ( we got Thursday and Friday for this per night).

Not sure where you are coming from but i paid i think £39p/r and my dog stayed free of charge at a hotel on the M40 last year, only 1/2hr drive from the NEC. I know i could do the drive the same day but it makes it a very long one when you can't leave until 4pm..

Travelodge have just put up a new pile of special offer rooms, I've booked Stafford M6 for two nights at £19 per night, it's only an hour to the NEC from there and a nice break for me coming from Edinburgh via Ayr to collect friends.

Oh my word the hotel i stayed in last year is now sitting at £65p/n..
Another hotel from the same company is £45, which appears to be nearer to the NEC too..
Seriously hoping my friend can come with me as she'll want to do it in the day and will want to drive, fingers crossed..

Ive just noticed on the tickets on the crufts website on the best in show night it offers a student discount?  does anyone know if thats available for all days too as my friend might want to come too?

Also we have never been to best in show before and gives us a variety of seat choices in different sections and wondered if anyone could suggest which ones might be the best to see everything as dont want to be tuck right out the way not being able to see anything?
