my bitch is 3 days over her due date how long can they go over and does this give any inclinationto size of litter?

I don't like mine going over at all.  And would be at the vets if I had a bitch 3 days overdue.

Don't know if it's dependent on breed, but my toy breeds often whelp 7 days early, so it wouldn't sit comfortably with me to have one go that late.

I think it's breed dependent. Anything before 'due' date would have me worried.

My girl was four days after due date and only had two.  Last time she had them on the due date and again only had two, average for breed is 6 LOL!

I knew that she was still OK as she was happy and the pups were kicking away, though went quieter in the last two days.

My girl whelped 8 days ago and was 4 days overdue from her first mating.  She had 8

did she just have one mating?

I dont consider mine overdue until they have gone over 63 days from last mating and then i dont worry unless there is any signs of trouble.
Last year one of my girls went 3 days overdue from last mating and she had 12 with no whelping problems at all.

Our breed usually welp few days early, get her checked out by your vet for peace of mind, good luck with your babies.

Depends whether she is 3 days overdue from her last mating or 3 days from her first. If shes 3 days from her last one, she may actually be over 3 days late, if the first mating took. I would get her checked either way, won't do any harm and it will set your mind at rest.

so u only had the 1 mating ! so 2day is 4days over ? is she showing any signs at all ? are u taking her temp ? has she been sick ? has she gone off her food? is she nesting at all ?
