I have recently acquired a Belgian Shepherd bitch, 1 year old and would like to show her. Can you tell me of any shows in my area (East Yorkshire) that I can go to and where I can receive more information on showing this beautiful breed.

Thank you, waiting in anticipation

The best plan would be to buy one of the dog papers - Dog World or Our Dogs. Both papers have details of forthcoming shows and the shows due during the next week. If you have no experiance you would be well adviced to attened ringcraft classes to find out what is expected of you and your dog. There are different sorts of show but the easiest sort to attend are the general open shows. These have classes for all sorts of breeds but they are more likley to be within a reasonable distance than Championship shows or Breed shows. There is the Northern Belgian Shepherd Dog Club - Sec. Mrs. B. Wraight - Tel: 01482 667080 this lady would no doubt be helpful if you would like to going her club and would be able to tell you of shows that had classes for the Belgian Shepherds.

Irder one of the weekly dog papers (Our Dogs or Dog World) from the Newsagents.
this will have the adverts for shows, the results, and the judges critiqes, breed notes for each breed, as well as caninenews and views.

There are Two breed clubs for BSDs the Belgian Shepherd Dog Association, and the Northern Begian Shepherd Dog Club. The Kennel Club will have the current secretaries details (Haven't been a member for about 9 years). Tel 0870 606 6750.

Which variety do you hagve. Mine was born in Oct 1988 (Sadly died 1992) and was a Groenendael!

Don't understand that, thought they all came up at the same time on all the boards, still I don't really know as I always use active posts. Still was only pulling your leg and it does show great minds think alike.
